Potato and Acorn Squash Soup

Every year I flip through fancy housewares catalogs and see gorgeous soup bowls shaped like pumpkins and squash, just begging to be added to an elegant holiday table. And I want them. It started a couple of weeks ago when I had some leftover beef stew but no more potatoes.
